Team Founder and Director | Craniofacial Surgery | Pediatric Plastic Surgery

Dr. Griffiths is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from the University of Utah. He attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (Ranked among the top 5 medical schools in the country). His postgraduate residency was also associated with Washington University in both a general surgery preliminary and a full plastic surgery residency.

His passion has always been helping those who we felt needed the most help, that is children born with congenital anomalies of the face. He completed a full one-year fellowship in pediatric plastic surgery and craniofacial surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in 1998 and established his practice in Boise Idaho as the only board certified plastic surgeon with fellowship training in pediatric plastic surgery and craniofacial surgery in the state. His repetition spread throughout the entire state and northwest as a very caring physician and a superb surgical technician.

He is credited with setting up the craniofacial program at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital and is the founding member of the Idaho cleft palate and craniofacial deformities Institute. Most of the pediatricians in South Eastern Idaho have his cell phone number and speed dial and call him frequently.

In addition to being an excellent technician and a very caring physician, Dr. Griffiths and his office are very focused on coordinating care for children born with cleft lip, cleft palate or other craniofacial abnormalities. By coordinating care for his patients, they obtain the very best outcome with the fewest number of surgeries. Dr. Griffith firmly believes in fixing things right the first time, with the majority of his patient’s undergoing only one cleft lip repair, one palatoplasty, one bone graft, and one cleft nasal operation (which is less than half the number of operations compared to results from other surgeons nationwide). In addition, other craniofacial abnormalities including craniosynostosis greater than 95% of the time are corrected in one surgery instead of multiple. Dr. Griffiths is very experienced at what he does and often has parents and children travel from neighboring states as others find out about his excellent results.

He has helped nearly 15,000 patients from Idaho and surrounding states since he started his practice in 1998.
